It was a truly festive celebration enjoyed by a large number of members and guests, many of whom brought along home made dishes of food to add to the Christmas buffet. The bar was fully-stocked ready for the celebrations, serving alcoholic beverages including Pilgrim’s Progress real ale.

The Club was adorned with Christmas decorations put up by Robin Grainger and Geoff Sumner, and Michelle Smedley had set up a little stall selling her beautifully handmade Jewellery and trinkets.

On the club room stage, entertainment was provided by La Mouche Quintet, our favourite Swing band, singing songs from the forties & fifties. La Mouche played for an hour and were then followed by Kaz, ‘The Forties Sweetheart’. Members and guests were dancing and singing along to their favourite tunes.

During the afternoon, two limited edition prints of WW2 aircraft and an oil painting of a Hurricane flying at low level across Kenley Airfield were auctioned. Many thanks to Paul Surma for kindly donating the oil painting, and also to Brian Ford for donating the limited edition prints of Spitfires flying over the White Cliffs of Dover.

Here’s a little video featuring La Mouche performing at our Christmas party. Further below is a selection of photos from the party. Click on the photos below to view large and the slideshow.

All the monies raised will go towards our Building Fund, and help towards paying for the much needed improvements and maintenance of our Club room.
