The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight will once again be making their annual flypast over Kenley Airfield!!! This year the flypast will take place on Sunday 14th August 2016 at 12:40pm.
They will be commemorating The Hardest Day during the Battle of Britain, in which RAF Kenley played a major role on the 18th of August 1940.
The Lancaster is operational again after problems last year and will be flying with the Hurricane and Spitfire. Coincidentally, this year marks the eightieth anniversary of the maiden flight of the Spitfire! The planes will be coming from Biggin Hill Airfield on their way to several airshows in the south of England.
The Flypast is focused around the Kenley Tribute on the Airfield and these historic aircraft make a moving sight as they fly low along the runway towards the Tribute.
As always, this event depends on serviceability of these aircraft and favourable weather conditions. Please give yourselves plenty of time to get there because the time of the flypast is subject to change!!!
* To comply with the safety requirements, please keep to the RAF Kenley Tribute side of the airfield to view the flypast *
